Gus Karageorge and Manny Macancela Memorial

The Linwood Pizza of Fort Lee family lost two of its most iconic members.  Gus Karageorge and Manny Macancela both lost their lives this week due to complications from COVID.  Both have been part of Linwood Pizza for 30+ years.  They were not just employees to us, they were our family.  They touched both the people they worked with as well as the community they served for the last 3 decades.  The workers in the food business sometimes go underappreciated.  Most people do not see the 14 hours a day, 7 days a week of work that is required of the workers in this industry.  There are no pensions, no 401k's, no paid vacation days, no severance, and most days, no lunch or dinner breaks because they are busy serving customers their lunches and dinners.  We are doing everything we can to help their families, but the past year has been tough on everyone, especially owners and workers of small family owned businesses.  Gus & Manny leave behind a combined 7 children, 1 of them with special needs.  All funds raised will go directly to their spouses & children to help cover funeral expenses, medical bills associated with their covid treatments and any other expenses during this difficult time.  We set a goal of $25k only because GoFundMe requires a goal, but any amount will go a long way.
