Funds for Gus’s Kidney Transplant Recovery

Hi everyone! My name is Cristina G. and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my older brother, Gus. For those of you who don’t know his story, Gus has faced countless medical issues — medical issues that would result in the loss of not just one leg but the loss of both legs below the knee. In efforts to save his left leg, the antibiotics therapies Gus took resulted in him facing kidney failure. Gus has been on dialysis for the past few months, but on Monday, November 14 he finally had his kidney transplant surgery where our brother, Erik, was a match and donated one of his kidneys, a true testament of a brothers bond. The waves of emotions for the family is still with us.

Although we are relieved that Gus finally has received his transplant and has been recovering well so far, he still has a long road ahead of him. He will need to recover for at least 8 weeks.

Gus has endlessly supported me and our family, despite having all of his own issues. I’m organizing this fundraiser to ensure that he is able to recover in peace without worrying about finances.
