On Wednesday, September 26, 2018, former Bishop Alemany, Long Beach Community College (LBCC) player, Guy Alford was shot to death in Jack in the Box drive thru on Atlantic Boulevard in North Long Beach.
A native of Inglewood, Alford played for LBCC for two years as a safety after graduating from Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills in 2016. Before that, he played for Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach. "After two seasons at LBCC, Alford was finishing up a few classes to earn credits in order to qualify for a scholarship to a Division I college football program", his former coach said.
Guy was a highly intelligent and respectful young man. He was an athlete and loved his family. Guy was a attended elementary, middle and some high school with Inglewood Unified School District attending Daniel Freeman, Kelso, Crozier and City Honors. Guy was taken too soon and the grief that his mother, father, brothers, and family deals with is hard to bear. Guy, he was 20 years old.
