Guy Croydon Memorial Fund

On Thursday, July 11th, the tour helicopter carrying my dad and his two passengers crashed off the Nāpali Coast of Kaua’i into the ocean. Although they were not able to recover my dad's body, our family is able to find peace in his passing through the support of our community.

We are heartbroken to share this tragic loss. I created this GoFundMe to provide relief for my family from any unforeseen expenses that may arise. Thank you all for your support - financial, physical, and emotional. We are forever grateful.

My dad, Guy Croydon, was a husband, father, and soon-to-be grandfather. He is loved by his family and the entire Kaua’i community. He touched so many lives as a mentor, coach, instructor, uncle and father figure. He always made an impact.

My dad was always seeking and exploring all that life had to offer. He was a diver in the Coast Guard, a Bush Pilot in Alaska, a Captain at Aloha Airlines, a Civil Air Patrol Mission Pilot & Aerospace Education Officer, and a member of the Fire Commission. He was an accomplished pilot with over 45 years of experience - 7,000 hours of helicopter time and nearly 40,000 hours of fixed-wing time. He also saw and appreciated the beauty around him. He was a fantastic artist, painter, musician, sailor, surfer, and gardener with a particular knack for tending to orchids.

Our family would like to acknowledge and thank all the incredible efforts displayed by the search and rescue teams. We would specifically like to commend the Coast Guard, the Kaua’i Police and Fire Departments, the Hawai’i National Guard, and the many others involved. They worked tirelessly and risked their lives to bring closure to both our family and the passengers' families. The compassion they have shown us has influenced how our family will process and heal in the weeks and months to come.

To our friends and family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for showing up for us in unbelievable ways.
