Guy Frank left prison on April 8th, 2021 after spending 20 years incarcerated for stealing two shirts. This crime-- theft under $500—was a felony when he was arrested but has been a misdemeanor since 2010. Mr. Frank has never committed a crime of violence. Mr. Frank lost his mother, two of his brothers, his wife, and his son while incarcerated, as well as years of his life that he could have spent with them. Prior to his incarceration, Guy worked as a waiter and loved working in food service. Now that he is free, Mr. Frank dreams of becoming an Assistant Deacon and helping and advising others who are struggling. Please support Mr. Frank as he rebuilds his life and starts to work towards his goals.
Mr. Frank's case was handled by Innocence Project New Orleans, under its Unjust Punishment Project. The Unjust Punishment Project works to free people serving life or equivalent sentences for non-violent offenses. All funds from this fundraiser will go directly to Mr. Frank as the beneficiary as he rebuilds his life. He will use these funds to address any needs he has as he gets back on his feet and pursues his goals. If you would like to send a check or have any further questions, please contact clientservices@ip-no.org.
