Helping children living in poverty
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Emmaus North Staffs - Beds for Kids campaign and every donation will help a local child.
Im 12 years old and I’m going to walk the length of Loch Ness to raise money for children living in our community that don’t have a bed to sleep in.
Every pound I raise will go to local children to help buy them a bed, mattress and bedding.
Beds for Kids was launched by Emmaus North Staffs to tackle an urgent need to provide free beds to children who do not have one to sleep in each night. The campaign covers Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas. Each £225 raised will give a new bed pack (bed, mattress, bedding) to a local child. More details can be found here - https://emmaus.org.uk/north-staffs/beds-for-kids/
A bed poverty report by Bernardo’s in September 2023, stated that 11% (895k) children in the UK are facing bed poverty. In North Staffordshire this equates to around 8300 children.
Please will you help me meet these basic human needs for local children? I believe everyone should have the best opportunities starting with a good nights sleep.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
Emmaus North Staffs supports around 800 vulnerable individuals and families every year with free furniture and household goods by working with local councils and housing associations.
Emmaus North Staffs have a large charity shop located in the Potteries Centre in Hanley, and a Furniture and Home Charity Emporium in Etruria - both are open to the public and funds raised go towards the charity’s cause.
