Cecil B. Moore Library is a bustling drop-in spot for youth and adults in the Brewerytown/Sharswood neighborhood of North Philly. This summer, the branch has been busier than ever while school is out! Library staff are so excited to welcome people back to the branch, but that has meant our programs are going through supplies quickly.

City funding to the library does not pay for everything we need, so we are inviting the Cecil B. Moore community and our network of farther-flung supporters to donate to our supply & books fund! We want to make sure our patrons come to a branch that provides an abundance of activities and opportunities to learn, grow and celebrate themselves and our community.

We will use these funds to purchase:

Craft supplies like hot glue sticks, jewelry-making kits, perler beads, button-making supplies.
Board Games for teens and kids.
Cooking supplies like bowls, whisks, baking sheets, flour, sugar, strainer.
Supplies for Sensory Play Group (kinetic sand, bubbles, pipe cleaners, slime).
Special programs and events!
New video games for our Nintendo Switch.
Teen books about tarot and magic, LGBTQ+ subjects, manga, and graphic novels.
New books to expand our adult collection of our most-circulated genres: Urban Fiction, Herbalism and Gardening, Self-Help, Pregnancy Wellness, Romance, Religion, Cookbooks, and Contemporary Black Political Thought.
Water and cups for drinking.
Snacks for special programs and kid/teen birthday parties!
Cabinets for storage.
