Hi, I’m Mrs. Donna Nance and I am writing this page to share the recent battle my loving husband Terry Nance endured and to request your support in this season.
On August 21st 2023, Terry visited a local Urgent Care Clinic because he was experiencing Covid-like symptoms. That proved negative, however, when they ran blood tests on him the results showed that his blood platelet counts were at alarmingly low levels. We were then ordered to take him directly to the hospital so he could be admitted. Terry was hospitalized at Luminis Medical Center for ten days then transferred to Johns Hopkins Hospital. After weeks of tests and diagnosis, Terry was eventually diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
AML is the most fatal type of Leukemia. It is an aggressive cancer of the blood and bone morrow. After implementing several blood transfusions and aggressive chemo treatments in hopes of removing the cancer, Terry and our family began to experience an emotional roller coaster. But sadly, Terry lost his battle on October 10, 2023, with his loving family by his side.
Terry was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, friend and global handyman. He was a hardworking man who was always there for his family, friends and even strangers. Terry had been employed with Jacobs Technology for eight months but worked for the Missile Defense Agency for over twenty years. He just recently had a career change and a promotion prior to being diagnosed with this evil disease.
Once this battle began, Terry was unable to work due to being hospitalized while battling for his life with blood transfusions and chemotherapy treatments. I am so honored that I was able to support him around the clock during this difficult time but as the medical expenses begin to pile up, I am asking for your help to help our family get through this period of financial stress.
Many of you have asked if you could help us but we’ve been very hesitant to accept it. In the past, we have always tried to help others but now being on the other side, it is very humbling. We are seeking donations of any amounts that will be applied to hospital and home expenses that have grown by leaps and bounds during our time in the hospital. We also ask that you continue to send your prayers and may God bless you in this season.
