World Championships Colombia

Hello,

My name is Emily Woods.

I am an artistic roller skater and on the 9th July this year, I became the Senior Ladies British Champion for the 10th time in my skating career.

With having a successful British Championships I have been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Championships held in Colombia. I’m overwhelmed and honoured to have achieved this and will be travelling with my coach Jonathan Clegg in September this year.

Artistic Roller Skating isn’t an affiliated sport. Therefore, every opportunity to compete internationally is self-funded. To succeed this, we pay for our hotels, flights, training at home and equipment ourselves with no kind of sponsorship to assist us.

Our current expenses are as follows for the both of us –

. Flights - £2,500.00

. Hotels - £1000.00

. Transfers - £100.00

. Food - £200.00

. With extra costs here and there

Jonny and I will be the only members of Team GB to travel to Colombia which when we do, we will hold the British flag high. On that note, we would really appreciate any help towards our trip that you can give us. To know our family, friends and supporters have our backs is an amazing feeling and not one that would go unnoticed.
