Aloha Kakou,
My name is Vanessa Keau and I live in Lahaina. I, Vanessa was notified Monday evening on August 28th, that my Mom Gwendolyn Kanani Puou was identified through DNA and is confirmed deceased. Kanani was an amazing, wonderful and caring mother who was strong natured and loved by many. She was a great cook and made sure we were well taken care of. Kanani leaves behind her children Alex, Val, Vanessa and Tony.
Grandchildren-Matthew, (D) Greyson, Kanani and Anson. Great Grandchildren-Eli Douglass & Nakoa Anthony Douglass.
My Mom is a victim of the recent Fires that happened on August 8th, In Lahaina, Maui that tragically devastated our Ohana, friends and as well as our Community. We would need help in the upcoming expenses to help with laying her to rest. She will be greatly missed.
In addition, once my mom has been covered and taken care of the remaining will be given to my sister and my nephew. My sister Val and her husband who also lived in lahaina lost everything as well to my nephew Anson and his wife who lost everything too. We're all without jobs as we worked in the tourism industry.
In addition to prayers for comfort and healing, we appreciate anything you can give to help while navigating this huge loss. It adds up and it will make a difference. We thank you for your love and support. May God bless you all, stay safe.
Mahalo Nui Loa for the blessings.
