Gwendolyn’s 60th Birthday Fundraiser
Tax deductible
While we hope this message finds you and your family in good health, our hearts are filled with gratitude to announce this fundraiser for my Mom’s (Gwendolyn Sontheim) birthday!
Anyone who knows my mom knows that she is a major proponent of altruism; her dedication to improving the lives of others in both the community and abroad is inspiring. Since the beginning, mom has supported and advocated for the vision of Uryadi’s Village; and thus, for her birthday, we kindly ask that in lieu of gifts, flowers, or deliveries, you consider joining together in a group to support this cause that is close to her heart.
Uryadi’s Village appropriated an orphanage in Soddo, Ethiopia, that was struggling to care for 15 children in a rented cement compound within the city, and transformed the project into a beautiful 5 acre, family style, village for orphaned children, with the goal of achieving self sustainability within the village. Since its establishment in 2014, Uryadi’s Village has now become home to nearly 100 children, and we seek to expand the village even farther so that we are able to meet the needs of more deserving children who truly have nowhere else to turn. Our hope with this fundraiser is to raise $40,000 which will build an additional needed family style home; this addition will mean 12 more children will have a warm and safe home to call their own.
We are grateful to the horse world for introducing the 3 of us, our shared passion for both horses and humanitarianism has fostered a true friendship that has resulted in a beautiful Village halfway across the world. Throughout the trials and tribulations everyone has faced this past year, one steadfast belief of ours that has strengthened is that we are a global village, and we need to care for one another. Please join us in caring for these children in rural Ethiopia.
If you feel moved to do so, please follow the link below to donate now! We thank you again and again!!
With Gratitude,
Genevieve and Jennifer
