Reed "Paul" McLane's Cancer Journey
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Lisa, and I am fundraising for my husband, Paul, to whom I will be married to for 30 years this September. He has stage 4 rectal cancer that has spread to his liver. He works as a manager for Smithfields Chicken and Barbecue in Jacksonville, N.C.
He had covid in January of this year, but as the months went on, he was exhausted and using the bathroom a lot. He thought it was just the aftermath of covid. After some convincing, he went to the doctor, where he underwent a colonoscopy and endoscopy, thus beginning his cancer journey. It has been almost 3 months since being diagnosed, and he has been working 12 hour shifts to keep his insurance. He started his iron treatments 2 weeks ago as well. My husband loves fishing, camping, concerts, and hanging out with his family; he loves cooking for his family and... anyone, really. This has all come to a halt in recent weeks. He keeps trying to be strong and be there for his daughters/son inlaws and grandbabies, but it's becoming difficult. He will be taking time off of work, and the out-of-pocket expenses we will be paying will take a toll on us. I don't want him to worry about his Healthcare, so I am asking for donations to help with his upcoming medical bills for treatment and anything that he/we may need so I can be his caregiver. He will undergo chemotherapy for the next few months, followed by radiation. He will have another Pet Scan to determine where treatment will go. He is my soulmate, my best friend. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help, whether donating or sharing. He was the General Manager for Ragazzi's Italian Restaraunt from 1998-2008, so if you are local to us sharing may go a long way! He has been out of work since aug.He hasn't gotten any paychecks since Feb, We have saved some money and are using to pay bills, buy food and gas and over the counter products to help, he will not have insurance after Aug . So please share and donate , he doesn't deserve this this, we don't deserve this...
Gofundme takes 3% of the donations so we have set up Cashapp if you would like the money to go directly to him.
Cashapp: $Cancersucks68
