Gwyne goes to The Kansas City Art Institute

Hello! My name is Gwynevere Buie and I have been given the opportunity to attend a two week residency at the Kansas City Art Institute. This is one of the—if not the—top art school(s) in the Midwest. It has been attended by such notable people as Dennis Hopper, Walt Disney, Arnold Zimmerman, Marc Davis, and Nick Cave.
I am excited for this opportunity and have been given a small scholarship. In addition to the scholarship, I have received a stipend for my KC Parade of Hearts submission that I hope to use; while also continuingly working as a lifeguard and as an art assistant at the local First City Creatives, in addition to paid commissions.
I hope to use this money to pay for room and board as well as tuition to attend this two week event which will hopefully expand my artistic horizons.
I am passionate about art and have won numerous awards, and believe this will be an amazing opportunity. Any amount of help in realizing this goal (dream) would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time!
