Help a Courageous Mother and her Kiddos

Before we start, I want to thank you for even clicking on this story. I am looking to raise funds for a mother who wishes to remain anonymous for safety reasons. There will be no attention-grabbing picture or names named due to her history, but she did give me permission to share a little of her story.

Like many of us in this current economy, she is struggling. She is a single mom who left a dark place to save her 2 kids, one being with special needs. She works a full 40 hours a week plus any overtime offered; however, life keeps dragging her through the mud.

On top of kiddo's expenses with child care and medical supplies for her special needs kiddo, some of which insurance will not pay for, she was also recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer and will need a hysterectomy plus chemo & treatment. Thankfully, we do live in a state where she can use some PFMLA for surgery, but it won’t cover everything. She’s constantly feeling like she failed these kids and will never have enough to put them through life, sports, school dances, etc., all because she had to escape the reality that was going to kill her. And that kills me.

I wish I could share more about this wonderful superhero of a woman, but I don’t want to disclose more than she gave me the okay to do. She does not wish for attention; she doesn’t want people searching her on socials or reporting back to the one she escaped, but she has accepted my help. She is embarrassed to accept my help, but I don’t want her to feel that way. She’s been in a world of no community or support, and I want to show her it doesn’t have to be that way.

It’s a bit hard to share a story without a face or a name, I get it. We as humans are taught to be attracted to feeling bad when we see pictures or faces, but it was a non-negotiable for her. Nonetheless, I told her I’d try! Even if it’s just enough to put some food in her fridge.
