Rallying Around the Nevarez Family

Please help support Greg, Alison, Andrew, and Daniel after the unimaginable loss of their precious daughter and sister, Natalie R. Nevarez.
Our hearts are overflowing with love and sympathy for the Nevarez Family, who lost their beautiful daughter and sister, Natalie, last week after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
In December of 2013, Natalie was diagnosed with Cardiac Angiosarcoma, a life-threatening cancer of the heart. Doctors showed little to no hope. They did not believe Natalie would survive a surgery, and if she did, they said she would be lucky to live another month at the most. Natalie refused to panic. She was a warrior. She decided to undergo immediate and high-risk surgery to remove the cancer.
Natalie stunned her medical team following the surgery by making what doctors called a "miraculous recovery,” especially after they'd learned of her personal decision to stray away from chemotherapy and embrace holistic treatments that would encourage healing of her body, mind, spirit, and emotions. She completely altered her lifestyle by maintaining a strict diet that incorporated healing herbs and teas, practicing yoga, receiving acupuncture, meditating, and healing fully from within.
During Natalie's recovery, she developed a mantra that she learned to live by: Panic Free Cancer. Natalie was always calm, collected, and optimistic. She found peace in knowing there were many different treatment options available and that she was in control of choosing which were best for her. She became passionate about helping other cancer patients realize that they, too, had a choice.
While the following months were not always easy, Natalie never once stopped enjoying life. She spent every waking moment with her family and friends, creating invaluable memories, spreading joy, and strengthening her faith. For months, all who knew and loved Natalie were given the gift of extra time with her.
In mid-October, Natalie experienced some concerning health issues that doctors were unable to diagnose, and towards the end of the month, her health began deteriorating at a rapid pace. During the early morning of November 2nd, Natalie began struggling for breath, and on the way to the hospital, she suffered a massive heart attack. Doctors worked to save her for nearly an hour before she passed away.
Natalie impacted so many people in the twenty-four years she was with us through her joyful presence and sense of humor, generosity and compassion for others, art and spirituality, and her deep love for her family. Natalie was an inspiration. Her laugh was contagious, she was always found with a smile on her face, and she made friends with all she met. The joy that she brought to this world is as much immeasurable as it is irreplaceable.
Natalie is survived by her parents, Gregg and Alison, and brothers, Andrew and Daniel. They are all tremendously caring and selfless people who loved Natalie unconditionally. As they grieve this inconceivable loss, the enormous support from their family and friends has meant so much to them.
There has been a huge outpouring of love and support for the Nevarez Family, as well as inquiries about ways to help. As their close friends, we feel that the financial burden of funeral and medical expenses associated with this devastating loss should be the least of their concerns. It is with their permission that we are sharing their story to create a platform for people to make donations.
