Gyver Cosplay Crowd Funder

Hello there!

Ok, here is my next crazy adventure! Anyone remember The Guyver?

This awesome Japanese animated show was released as a 12 part series by Manga in the 90’s which is where I first got obsessed with it. It was chopped together from a longer 80’s Japanese anime. They made a live action film simply called ’The Guyver’ or ‘Mutronics’ in the Uk and… it even has Star Wars’ own Mark Hamill in it! I won’t spoil what happens to him if you haven't seen it but its err… pretty spectacular. It's one of the best worst films ever made, has an iconic horror B movie cast and the practical effects are simply mind blowing. It's a genuine cult classic.

The weird thing having designed and made hundreds of helmets and armour is that I've never actually cosplayed because I've never decided on a character I want to own. Well, now I have and I can't get it out of my head! I don't know why I just HAVE to make this guy! As a kid it was just the coolest armour ever! And... well I'm still a kid.

I’m going to design the armour after the original animated version styled after the incredible Max Factory 1/6 figure which was supervised by the actual Anime creator Yoshiki Takaya! ...with plans to then design the live action version from Guyver: Dark Hero.

It's going to be a very expensive build! From the scale and intricacies of the 3d modelling to the amount of material for printing and finishing, the primer, paint and lacquer, the (god knows how I’m going to do it) undersuit, electronics etc. etc. I'm anticipating around the £1000 mark all up.

When we reach the target, I am ALSO going to pick one lucky donator at random and make you a finished 1:1 scale helmet of him!

This will be my most ambitious project to date!
