Help Mo Go: Molly's Recovery Fighting Against IBD

Donation protected
My name is Molly Halligan (you may also know me as Mo Sparrow!) and I am an artist and hairdresser living in NYC. I am reaching out to share with you a challenging personal journey that my family and I have been on for the past few years and to ask for help from my friends and community.

After training for years as an apprentice, things were just starting to pick up in my hairdressing career when my life took an unexpected turn. In 2022 I experienced a severe ulcerative colitis flare-up, partially due to medical neglect. This led to multiple hospital stays, a blood transfusion, and three intense life-saving surgeries, including the removal of my colon and the creation of a J-pouch.

As you can imagine, the recovery process has been tough, and it has left me unable to work while I recover. As a hairdresser, my income is dependent on my ability to provide services, and this forced absence has left me and my husband stressed and struggling to make ends meet. My family has been incredibly supportive during this time, but I hate to see them burdened by this overwhelming situation.

To help ease the financial strain, allow me to focus on my recovery, and simply move on from the traumatic experience, I've created a GoFundMe campaign. The funds raised will go towards covering bills and basic living expenses during my healing process.

If you're able to contribute, even a small amount, it would mean the world to me. Your support will help my family immensely during this challenging period. We also completely understand if you are unable to contribute financially. Sharing the campaign with your friends and family through word of mouth, email, or social media can be just as valuable in spreading the word and raising awareness about my situation.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story, and thank you in advance for your support. Your kindness and compassion are greatly appreciated.
