Support a Single Parent's Educational Journey

I firmly believe that education and surrounding yourself with a team of individuals who share one’s same core value system is essential for one’s overall success. Through one’s education, one has the privilege of accessing opportunities that are not accessed otherwise, such as internships, study-abroad programs, apprenticeships, and fellowships. Beyond the career opportunities, one can meet other people who can sharpen their mental, emotional, and professional intelligence. As someone who values learning and growth, I am asking for an opportunity to create a better future for my kids and leave a long-lasting legacy that they can surpass. Setting the example of the importance of education and overall growth to my children is the motivator for pursuing my graduate degree. I am asking that you help me in this endeavor, no matter how big or small. I am not asking for a handout, but a helping hand to succeed and give back to my community after I obtain my master's degree. The degree I am pursuing is in health administration with an emphasis in management. I am also looking to pursue my physical therapy license since I am a personal trainer and a server. I wish to eventually obtain my M.D. in sports medicine with a minor in orthopedic surgery and holistic health. As I work towards all these goals, I am researching scholarships to help cover the cost but am running into some dead ends.
I am a single parent of two with little to no resources, $120,000 in debt, no parents, little family support, and no car. I am facing a tremendous amount of pressure and obstacles, but I have a desire and will to succeed. Once again, I am not asking for a handout, but a helping hand, whether it is through, helping to cover tuition on my behalf, direction towards organizations, or any other helpful resources. Me reaching my goals will be a testament that hard work despite devastating obstacles is possible and will allow me to inspire others. I refuse to let my obstacles, present and past (abuse, homelessness, and the death of both my parents by age 18, just to name a few), stop me from reaching my goals and passing generational wealth to my girls. I want them to have a solid foundation and reach even bigger heights so they can make a positive impact on the world. When all my goals are accomplished, I plan on starting a non-profit while operating in my career field to help single parents who are struggling, whether that be tuition assistance, credit repair, or even relocation support. This will be the contribution I give to others to pass on what others have invested in me.
