Help NYC Fire Victims

Donation protected
One year ago I moved into this building featured here. I felt so grateful after looking at over 50 apartments in New York City to have finally found my home. While the building and apartment were lovely, the sense of community with the tenants was special and just what I needed after moving across the country with only a few suitcases, and my pup, Corduroy. My new neighbors in this building defied traditional New Yorker stereotypes, as they were friendly, helpful and gracious from the beginning.

On Wednesday, February 20th, a four alarm fire burned through 5 floors of my building leaving 13 apartments uninhabitable. I was so blessed that my apartment was not directly affected by this, but my neighbors lost their animals, homes and possessions. Many of them are elderly and live on a fixed income. One couple who lost everything have lived in the building for 50 years, while another couple expecting a baby soon also lost their home and possessions. The tenants do not have insurance and are receiving limited assistance through organizations like the Red Cross.

All funds raised will go directly to these victims to help them rebuild their lives.  I know there are so many tragedies to donate to these days, but please remember that every dollar you give will be an act of kindness that will be so appreciated during this difficult time. Your support can make a big difference!
