Hola from Juticalpa, Honduras!
As most of you know, we are volunteering this year with Olancho Aid Foundation. Most of us are volunteering as teachers and are really enjoying our experience so far.
One of our highlights each week is going to 'Hogar de Ninos' after school to tutor and play with the children there. Hogar de Ninos is a home for children, birth through eighteen who are cared for by the Franciscan Sisters of Juticalpa. While there is a lot of love at Hogar, there is also much need for clothes, eduactional supplies and toys.
This Christmas we are hoping to provide a little holiday magic for the wonderful children at Hogar. Our goal is to provide an outfit, a Christmas gift and a stocking stuffer for each child. We are planning for 40 children this Christmas and are budgeting $50 per child which totals at $2,000.
