Falcons to Championship

After a two-year, pandemic-related hiatus, the Albany High School Robotics Team 1493 placed 2nd in the New York Tech Valley Regional Competition and earned the opportunity to compete at the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, TX on April 20-23.
Albany High School is a public, urban high school with a diverse socioeconomic student population, so one of the Robotics Club's founding principles has been to allow any member to participate -- including attending competitions -- without financial cost. This cornerstone provides all students and families freedom from worries of having enough money to be able to participate.
Our students take great pride in collaboratively designing, building and programming a robot and competing with other teams from around the world. Participation in the Robotics Club is highly correlated to high achievement at school and college acceptance.
This chance to compete is a tremendous honor and a validation of all their time and commitment to their school, and we want to make it happen for them.
We need your help to send these kids to Houston for the FIRST Robotics World Championships and we need it fast! We are looking for community support to help send a group from our team to represent Albany High School. Please consider donating.
Our fundraising goal matches our expected costs to attend this competition. Any donations remaining beyond what is actually necessary will be used to help fund future Albany Robotics team competitions.
I am a parent of one of the team members and I will transfer all money collected and write a check to the Albany High Robotics Team. This money will be spent on airfair, lodging, food, and entry fees. Thanks for all of your help.
