Helping Homeless in Cambodia

Hi my name is Grant Richards but most know me as “Grant the Polite Guy”
I was homeless for 1 1/2yrs and turned my life around and now I am the Founder of Signal Flare a Homeless charity that helps thousands of homeless every year giving free food, clothes, toiletries and much more while helping people to get on their feet here in Brisbane Australia
This year I was awarded “Lord Mayor’s Achievement Award” and the “Community Leader Award” with the Catholic Church.

I have achieved all this without drawing a wage and using all the money to go directly to helping people.
You see resently I have been helping a single mum and heard such harsh stories about living conditions for the poor and homeless over there.

The single mum was married to a much older Australian guy going over there and bringing her to Australia to live. 3 months before their first baby born he died leaving her in a new country and no family.

Her son is 3yr now and I want to take both over to Cambodia so they can see their family. But while there I want to help make a difference to a lot of people with building water wells, building shelters for homeless and to me most importantly taking things like tooth brushes and paste to give to kids that have never had them.

I want to see what is needed the most and make contacts so I could help long term in the future sending clothes, blankets and hygiene packs which most take for granted but is in such a high need over there.

Let’s show the world cares and help make a difference to people that are dyeing from lack of food and illness because there’s no hygiene.
