East Sussex Heathcare Channel Conquest
We are a relay team of six people made up of two of East Sussex NHS Doctors, myself - Mr Manuel Saldana Consultant Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic Surgeon, Dr Stephen Sweetman Ophthalmologist, my three children 19 year old William
Saldana, 17 year old Beth Saldana, 12 year old Alice Saldana and local business
man Mr Tim Bigg. We are raising money for Eastbourne, Bexhill and Conquest
Hospital by crossing the English channel from Dover to Calais on the French
coast during the week of 26th August 2020.
The current situation with Covid-19 is unprecedented and is one of the biggest
challenges our hospital, community and the NHS as a whole will ever face.
Every day we are reminded by our local community just how much the local
health services means to them and how much they rely on it especially now which is why in response to this together we have decided to take on this challenge to
raise money to support our staff, patients and community teams impacted by the virus.
We are proud to be part of our amazing community, of the NHS and particularly
to be part of the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust family.
Anything we raise during this challenge will go towards helping Eastbourne,
Bexhill and Conquest hospitals where the need is great so that we can continue to give exceptional care for patients and support for staff.
Thank you so much for your support
Manuel, Stephen, William, Beth, Alice and Tim.
