More information about CAL FIRE Benevolent Foundation: As a result of the tragic loss of CDF Firefighter Eva Marie Schicke on September 12, 2004, on the Tuolumne Fire, a group of fellow CAL FIRE Firefighters met in a effort to determine how, in the future, we could assist firefighters and their families in their time of need. As a result, the CAL FIRE Benevolent Foundation (formally CDF Firefighters Benevolent Foundation) was born and approved as a 501 (c)(3) Charitable Foundation to ensure that immediate assistance was forever available.
