Help Jason come home
jason has now been in ICU at St James Hospital in Leeds for a year, over the last 2 months he has made huge strides. He has been off the ventilator for 4 weeks and on intermittent renal dialysis since February so his coming home is getting closer and we really need an extension to make his homecoming a wonderful experience, we have an unknown amount of time as Jason still has a tracheostomy and continues to vomit every day and the possible treatment for this (a gastrostomy) is not recommended with a low albumin (blood protein, normal level greater than 35) Jason’s is between 16/23 most recently but has never been higher than this.
I just want to be ready when we hear the words “Jason is ready to go home next week”
please please help me make Jason’s dream come true we have gone from “Jason might not make it” “Jason is unlikely to ever leave ICU” “Jason will need some kind of ventilation overnight” to “Jason will leave ICU, he won’t need any ventilation, he can cope with intermittent dialysis so he will go home”
