Hi, my name is Kendall Thomas. My sister’s daughter, my niece, is currently in the PICU fighting hard against RSV and bacterial pneumonia. Salem has been in the hospital going on 2 weeks now and has a little ways to go before she’s able to come home. Salem is on a BiPAP machine helping her breathe, has had a feeding tube placed so she can still get nutrients, her sodium levels are low which can cause seizures and other health issues, she’s developed bacterial pneumonia, her oxygen and respirations are up and down, and she has protein in her urine. Salem’s parents, Katie and Zach tried for many years to get pregnant and even experienced an ectopic pregnancy where Katie bled internally and lost a fallopian tube. Salem is their miracle baby and this season has been very hard on them. With all crazy going on, life continues which means bills pile on and fast. Katie has had to spend the last couple of weeks of her maternity leave watching Salem fight for her life in the pediatric ICU. Zach has been there every opportunity he can when he’s not at work/school, even sleeping on the floor. We are asking for any donation possible for Salem’s medical bills and any additional expenses that come along with Salem being in the hospital. Thank you and please keep praying!
