Erin CB's Surgery Recovery Fund
My name is Erin Cassels-Brown. I'm a 20 year old writer and musician with dreams of touring the world while playing songs and meeting people along the way. This past summer I was hospitalized after my appendix burst unexpectedly. I was fighting a severe and dangerous infection that entered my bloodstream and developed complications. After two surgeries and 14 days in the hospital I made it back home. It was a scary, uncertain, and trying time. Both my family and the staff at Porter Hospital were amazing, and I am so grateful for the medical and emotional support that I was surrounded by. I am fully recovered now, working with my dad as a carpenter, and making lots of music. Life is pretty damn good! However, this ordeal cost a great amount of money. I'm navigating life in the big world and I am doing my best to support myself while staring into the snarling jaws of my impending student debt. I am lucky enough to have health insurance (thanks, Mom!) but it doesn't quite cover all of the bills. These remaining expenses are an additional financial burden that my parents and I cannot handle on our own. If you are a friend, family member, distant accquaintance, or venture philanthropist, your support would mean the world to me. Thank you very much, and happy November.
Love,
Erin
