We are the family of Steph and Travis, and we are here to help tell their story and support them in every way we can.

For those who might be new to their story, Steph and Trav have been walking the most unthinkable road over the past 2 years. What started out as a nagging back pain eventually turned into a stage 4 Kidney Cancer diagnosis. Over the past 18 months, Travis has undergone two major surgeries and several different chemo and immunotherapy treatments. In February 2024, they were ultimately given the devastating news that his cancer is terminal.

We were given 9 incredible months with stable scans and very little side effects for Trav. It was such a blessing to be able to see him have a mostly unhindered summer filled with fishing, boating, time with friends and family, and many good memories. However, In December, we were met with the news that his treatments were no longer working, and his scans were no longer stable. In January, they started him on another treatment plan with the hope of getting another decent stretch of stable scans. And so we wait. We pray. And we do our best to make the most of every day.

Over the course of the last month or so, due to the side effects of his medication and the progression of his illness, Travis has completely stopped working. This means they not only lost his income, but also their health insurance. They are facing a mountain of hardships, from Travis growing increasingly weaker every day, to loss of income and an increase in monthly bills with insane insurance premiums and high deductibles, and all of the regular living expenses that don’t take a break for cancer.

We would love to invite you to join us in helping them fill the gaps so we can ease just a small portion of weight they are carrying. We honestly have no idea what amount to put on here. Medical expenses, funeral costs and everything in between can be so hard to predict, but we know that anything and everything will help. Whatever we are able to raise for them will go directly to these things, and any excess will go to supporting Steph and the kids in the days and months to come.

Life grows more and more difficult with each passing day. Let us pray peace, strength, endurance, grace and even joy over them every time we think of them.

Oh, and lastly. Please only send thoughts and messages to them via the comments here and on their Facebook page, which we will also update. They have their hands full, and we do not want to add to that by inundating them with texts and phone calls. We will be managing both pages for them, and will follow up with anyone as needed.
