Get Steven back to CSU!

Donation protected
Just nineteen years old, Steven Lorenzen is an amazing son, brother, uncle, boyfriend, coworker, and human being. He is brilliant, a straight "A" student throughout high school and college, not to mention an athlete, volunteer, and gentleman. He attended Green Mountain High School in Lakewood, CO and graduated from there in 2013. He played basketball all 4 years and recieved the First Team All Conference Award. His teammates, coaches, and opponents loved Steven and strived to be just like him. They admired him not only for his unique talent, but also for his divine character.
Steven has volunteered with the Second Wind Fund of Metro Denver (helping prevent teen suicide) and loves children and animals. The people who have been fortunate enough to get to know, or simply to come into contact with Steven will tell you he is the kindest, most compassionate person they've ever met. The doctors and nurses administering the biochemotherapy to cure his stage 3 melanoma will tell you the same thing.
Every third week, Steven spends 4 nights and 5 days at University Hospital in Aurora, CO. He recieves 5 different medications through IV's and standard injections 24 hours per day while he is there, all of which cause nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, and convulsive shaking. He doesn't eat while he is in the hospital and still feels sick when he gets home; After just one of four cycles, he has lost over fifteen pounds, a devastating blow to an athlete who typically spends 7 days a week in the gym lifting weights and playing basketball, his favorite things in the world.
After five days inpatient, he comes home for ten days, where he gives himself another shot in the stomach to restore white blood cells and increase immunity. Because his immune system is so comprimised, Steven is stuck inside his home with very few visitors because even a common cold is potentially fatal to him.
After 2 surgeries and a minimum of 4 cycles of biochemotherapy, the hope is that Steven will be able to return to his education at Colorado State University where he was studying Nutritional Sciences. He was diagnosed with cancer during the summer of 2014, right after he finished his freshman year there, and was forced to take a semester of planned leave to fight this battle. Almost halfway through his biochemotherapy now, we are trying to find a way to fund Steven's education. While it may not be this coming semester, we know Steven will return to CSU; he is not one to give up on anything once he is comitted to it. We are all experiencing economic hardship right now, but after 2 surgeries and 4 cycles of advanced biochemotherapy, Steven and his family could really use some extra help. We hope you will open your hearts them and help us get Steven back to his friends, his education, and his life at Colorado State University.
