Michael "Mikey" Cecco Funeral Fund
During our lifetime, nearly all of us will experience the emotional stress associated with a loss of any type. However, the death of a child is a pain unimaginable for parents, along with siblings left behind. It defies the natural order: parents should not bury their children.
Sadly, in the early morning hours of Sunday, January 3, 2016, Michael “Mikey” Cecco was unexpectedly taken away all too early.
Not only is Mike Sr. a classmate from high school, we were once neighbors living on the same street, and recently celebrated his ten-year anniversary working together. When I received notice of this tragedy, my mind returned to carefree summer days watching Mikey grow up. One vivid memory in particular, I can picture his smiling face as he navigated his skateboard down his handmade ramp on his driveway, his laughter still reverberating in my ears.
With heartfelt sadness and condolences for Mikey’s parents, Mike and Janine Cecco, loving sister Janelle, and the entire Cecco family, I have been searching for a meaningful way to support them during this unfathomable time, and I am certainly not alone. There are numerous wonderful friends, co-workers and neighbors in our community that love and care about the Cecco family who are saddened by this unfortunate tragedy and wish to let them know they are being thought of during these heartbreaking circumstances and aspire to offer help in any way possible. Traditionally, sending food or flowers is a popular gesture. However, at this point there are many variables with family plans creating much uncertainty that offering food, albeit a wonderful idea, seems unwise.
Therefore, in an effort to truly be helpful, please consider joining in being “behind-the-scenes angels” to the Cecco family. A funeral fund has been established to help ensure the Cecco family face fewer financial challenges in managing a funeral after this untimely and unforeseen death. Any interested friends who care to join in being a “behind-the-scenes angel” offering their love, compassion, condolences and support to the Cecco family are invited to contribute. Any donation amount, small or large, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
Thank You and God Bless!
