Aughadown Community Council: Urgent Funds Needed!

Aughadown Community Council is a voluntary group committed to the maintenance and enhancement of the community grounds in Church Cross. These grounds are more than just a patch of land; they are the heart of our community, where we exercise, socialise and bring our community together.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has left us in a dire situation. We've been unable to run our regular fundraising events for a number of years, which has significantly impacted our ability to maintain our community facilities. With the added expense of an insurance bill of €2,800 due on the 7th of August, the urgent need for repair and maintenance of our outdoor gym equipment, and the normal running costs of the community grounds, we find ourselves in dire need of your support.

We urgently need to raise €7,500 to ensure that we can continue to keep our facilities open and safe for everyone to enjoy. These funds will allow us to pay our insurance, carry out much-needed repairs and maintenance, and cover our ongoing operating costs.

Without this funding, we will, unfortunately, have to close off our all-weather walking track, outdoor gym, and playing courts. These are facilities that we've all come to value and rely upon, especially during the pandemic when the importance of outdoor spaces for physical and mental health has been so clearly highlighted.

Your donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. Any contribution you can make will help to preserve the facilities we all love and depend on. It will ensure that our community continues to have a safe and welcoming space for recreation and fellowship.
