NEW HEART WITH NEW HOPE
Donation protected
I have already had three open heart surgeries and my health continues to decline. After each surgery we were sure that all my cardiac issues would be behind me. My husand Stuart retired from his job and and we moved to South Carolina thinking the worst was over - only it was just beginning. I had many episodes of passing out and heart pain. After flying back and forth to NYC for further evaluation it was recommended that I be evaluted for a heart transplant. I am suffering from something called diastolic heart failure and sever genetic valve disease. The only treatment is a transplant. During my evaulation at Duke Medical Center in Durham I had yet another episode of passing out. It was determined that I must stay in the hospital until a heart becomes available.
To further complicate matters, a pump must be installed so that my heart can continue to supply blood to my organs - this will nessicate my being in ICU until a heart is available. My husband now must give up the job he took in South Carolina to be with me in Durham - my dogs are being cared for and the expenses are Way more than we could imagine. Even post surgery, some lifetime drugs are not completely covered. And they tell us it runs $2,000 a month.
Anything you can give would be appreciated beyond words . This post is the hardest post we will ever have to make. Stuart nor I have any options. Please help us. Anything you can contribute will help alleviate the additonal stress this burden is placing on us.
If you have any questions, please reach out to my sister, Susan Levin - or you can reach me through gofundme and I will forward your inquiry to her.
