Eloras Beautiful Brain

Hello everyone.
My name is Brooke and I have created this GoFundMe page for my best friend Shona and her fiance Mathew and their beautiful 6 month old daughter Elora.
With ten years of friendship and all the memories we have created along the way, Shona and I were lucky enough to fall pregnant within three months of each other. Mine unexpected and Shona over 18 months of trying before they fell pregnant with their perfect blue eyed daughter Elora.
To live over 2 hours away from one another hasn't stopped us from talking everyday. Coaching each other through the struggles of sleepless nights and breastfeeding to refusing the cot/ bassinet and reassuring each other its OK to co-sleep (which we both absolutely love), Having a whinge about our husband/ husband to be, to hearing our babies talk to each other through the phone and facetime.
I feel very blessed to have such a genuine supportive person in my life..
Because life isn't fair, on the 23rd of December 2018 at 4am Shona rushed Elora to Campbelltown Emergency as her condition started to deteriorate. She was monitoring a fever for over a day that Shona was treating with ibuprofen and paracetamol but she just wasnt able to break it.
Once she got to Campbelltown Hospital Elora's heart rate hit 225 and she went limp in Shona's arms. That is when the seizures started. After 7 hours of seizures Campbelltown Hospital were able to stabilize Elora enough to immediately transfer her to Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick. Where she is currently admitted to the intensive care unit.
With CT scans at Sydney Children's hospital they confirmed that the high temperature, high blood pressure and seizures had caused swelling on Elora's brain and spinal cord. Because of the swelling Elora has been unconscious since the 23rd.
There is currently no explanation or diagnosis to what Elora is sick with and there was no improvement over Christmas and the following days. All they can do is wait, monitor Elora's condition by the hour and have hope.
They received more heart breaking news from their doctors and neurosurgeons, given news to be aware of the possibility that Elora might not wake up as her condition was worsening and damage to the brain was increasing.
The CT scan shows damage to both sides of her brain from her symptoms.
With today the 30.12.18 marking day 7 in hospital they have only just seen an improvement in Elora.
Our beautiful princess is still sleeping but the seizures have slowed and they can see an improvement in the right side of the brain and with hope that the left side will follow.
Elora is unfortunately not out of the woods yet.
Shona and Mathew have been told that they can expect to be living at the hospital for a minimum of a couple of months and that's not including the rehabilitation Elora will need if she wakes up.
Shona and Mathew haven't been able to look at social media or even comprehend what the future may hold as their only concern at the moment has been their daughters life.
I want to try to raise funds so they can spend more time together at the hospital with less financial stress.
They struggled to accept any thought of help as they are independent hard workers and this is already a very hard time for them.
All the donations will go towards paying their hospital accommodation fees while not at work as they wait for elora to wake up.
And any rehabilitation that Elora will need in the future as her beautiful brain will need lots of time and support to heal.. It’s a very long process of recovery with what she is going through.
