Support The Boyt Family

We are the Boyt family. My husband and I have been married for 7 years, we have 4 beautiful children. Hailee is 7, Holden is 4, Hope is 2 and then there's our newest precious addition Hudson who was born on October 17, 2015 via emergency cesarean due to a placental abruption. Hudson was born at 25 weeks 6 day’s gestation, weighing 2lbs 3oz and 14 1/4 inches in length. Hudson was born in Springfield Mo but on October 21, 2015 being only 4 days old Hudson was transferred by plane to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City MO for emergency surgery. He was very sick due to him having a perforated bowel (where he has a hole in the wall of his intestines, resulting in feces flowing into the abdomen) this condition is very serious for anyone but especially for such a little guy as Hudson. Hudson had a surgery that placed a peritoneal drain in his abdomen to allow the existing feces to drain out and not be trapped. He will need more surgery to fix the perforated bowel in the future but for now this drain will allow for him to become stable and to be healthier for future surgery.

 

Now this is only the beginning of health issues Hudson could face. He has many obstacles ahead of him and we as his parents want nothing more than to be with him throughout this entire process. With Hudson being so premature he has many days ahead inside the walls of a NICU. The reason for this gofundme is to help us focus on Hudson’s care. This fund will allow us not to worry about the financial burden of driving back and forth between the hospital and our home (3hour drive), helping with meals for our family while we are with Hudson, providing care for our other 3 children while we are away from home, and allowing me (Amanda) to not worry about returning to work asap but to be with Hudson.

We have had many friends and family members who are a great distance away ask how they can help us during this time, and a few have requested us to begin a gofundme page.
