Hendrix :)

Unfortunately, our sweet hendrix has endured a very serious injury which will require surgery as well as extensive after care. About a week and a half ago, due to his excited nature and animated personality, Hendrix took a tumble in our backyard. The fall landed on his back right leg and resulted in what the vet told us was a slight sprain. After a few days of care and monitoring his leg, it began to swell due to the sprain actually being a severe abscess. Over the course of the next 24 hours the leg swelled up drastically, resulting in Hendrix chewing away at his leg during the night. This caused the abcess in his leg to burst and become critically infected. Upon visiting multiple emergency vet hospitals, we have been told that we have the following choices: His leg to be amputated costing $6k-$8k, or to euthanize. None of these choices are ideal, but hopefully our friends and family can help us make the easiest one. This is a difficult time for all of us. Hendrix is the joy and happiness of our lives and we would be absolutely crushed to see him go. Especially for something that is so preventable.
