The City That Wasn't Built In A Day
Hi everyone, my name is Kristine Dillon and I am happy to say that I have been accepted into the Rome Program for Fall 207 at the University of Miami School of Architecture.
The Rome Program is a chance for architecture students at The U to study abroad in Rome for one semester. By going to Rome I will be able to see two thousand years of innovative designs. I will get a glimpse into how the Romans developed the architectural structures that we use today. To be able to get a first-hand experience to see monuments and historic buildings that I have studied years about would be amazing!
To achieve one of the goals I have set for my college career, I could use your help in making it possible to be able to afford this trip. Though I have received scholarships, grants, financial aid and saved money to help cover the cost of tuition I am still coming up short on other expenses not covered by the university. The major expenses I still need help covering are:
-Program fee
-Flight (round-trip airfare from Columbus, OH to Rome, Italy)
-Medical insurance
-Lodging
-Meals
- Extracurriculars (exploring the city)
The Rome program estimates that these out of pocket expenses will add up to about ~$11,000 for the semester. My parents have agreed to help by paying for the tuition cast which is about ~$22,800. I would like to help them and show my appreciation by raising funds to help pay for my study abroad. With that being said I would like to raise an additional ~$11,000. The total coming out to ~$22,000.
I would greatly appreciate any donations so that I am able to put 100% of my focus on my studies while abroad. This opportunity will help with my lifelong endeavors which include becoming a licensed architect and eventually practicing architecture in my own firm.
For more information about myself or the program please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you for reading!
