My Sisters Fight

Hi, my name is Terry Baughman and I am raising funds for my sister Dee Russell. My sister is a Mom of three wonderful kids, a wife for 40 years to Rick and a grandmother of 4. We grew up in Pueblo County and that is where my sister and Rick have stayed and raised their family. They both have been hard-working. My sister is in the medical billing field and Rick retired several years ago from the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office.

Dee was diagnosed in December with invasive carcinoma of the breast. This is the most common type of breast cancer. No one wants to hear those words! About 8 in 10 invasive breast cancers are invasive (or infiltrating) ductal carcinomas (IDC).

IDC starts in the cells that line a milk duct in the breast. From there, the cancer breaks through the wall of the duct, and grows into the nearby breast tissues. At this point, it may be able to spread (metastasize) to other parts of the body through the lymph system and bloodstream.

My sister had a biopsy and the mass removed and now she begins her journey with chemo and radiation. The cost for treatments even with the best insurance is exuberant. My sister is a fighter and I am positive with her faith and family she will "kick cancer's butt"!

My goal is to help with the cost of her treatments so she and Rick can focus on her recovery! I am hopeful that you can help support my sister in this battle. We will be forever grateful!
