HABS Christmas Appeal 2024

Hi, I’m Leigh Cole, CEO of HABS Strength in Mind Therapeutic Services, based in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire.

For over 12 years, HABS and its sister company, Strength in Mind CiC, have supported local communities. We’ve now merged into the charity, HABS Strength in Mind Therapeutic Services, to offer a more comprehensive service.

We work with 21 primary and secondary schools in Hertfordshire, employing trained Family Support Workers and counsellors to provide a wide range of support, from counselling to community projects, improving the lives of families across Hertfordshire. Our services, available to families with children attending partner schools, cover parenting classes, mental health, domestic abuse, emotional well-being, bereavement, financial support, and more. Strength in Mind CiC also provides affordable mental health support to the local community.

Our annual Christmas appeal is now in its 11th year. Last year, with donations, we delivered Christmas sacks to over 500 children, provided over £5,000 in utility support to 200 families, and festive meals to over 100 families.
