Hades Canyon for DEFCON DC540 CTF Server
DC540 (Northern Virginia DEFCON group) built a CTF server on a retired desktop (i7-860, 16GB RAM, 500GB HD). It's fantastic, hosts a few exploitable VMs very nicely, but doesn't fit in a backpack. It would be ideal if we had this amazing platform (i7-8809G, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD, and fits in a small sleeve in a backpack).
* portable
* more VMs
* faster
May even be able to provide a wifi connection clients directly and retire our wifi router.
The purpose of this CTF server is for budding young hackers to gain hands-on experience and confidence at exploiting flaws in operating systems and software. Today's budding young hackers will be tomorrow's network protectors. This is an important mission.
