You'll Agree this Delightful New Musical is Ready for Broadway!
If you avoid temptation and are never tested, can you really claim honesty and incorruptibility? That question is asked and answered in Mark Twain’s short story The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg when the town of Hadleyburg’s incorruptible reputation is put to the test.
Now Hadleyburg, a stage musical based on that story, is ready for a 29-Hour Equity Reading to introduce this new work to the New York theatrical community. It is a tribute to Mark Twain, small towns, and fun-filled corruption!
We’re on a Journey to Broadway!
And that journey has provided us with the opportunity of working with Tony Award®-winning producer Ken Davenport. His feedback has helped us take Hadleyburg to the next level. And now it's time for a 29-Hour New York reading! To make the reading a reality, we must raise a minimum of $50,000, and we need your help to make that happen.
Why a New York Reading?
A 29 Hour Equity reading is the best way to present a new musical to the Broadway theatrical community. It’s an opportunity to see how a show will perform with an audience in real-time. After our successful Kansas City reading, we are confident that Hadleyburg is ready.
Judge for yourself! Go to our website, read about the story, and listen to the songs! We're sure you’ll agree this delightful new musical is fully developed, the music and lyrics are ready, and the stage is set for the timeless wit and wisdom of Mark Twain.
Mark Twain said: “Humor is mankind's greatest blessing.” And Hadleyburg is full of memorable humor. Donate now to help present Hadleyburg to the New York theatrical community.
