Hadrian's Wall Running Challenge
Donation protected
In June, Ed Scott, Orlando Bayliss and Hubert Read are attempting to run the length of the 84 mile long Hadrian’s Wall Trail. We start in the east from Bowness on the 25 June, finishing at Wallsend in 3 days.
We are raising money for three causes.
Firstly, we wish to support the James Pickering Foundation. On the 9th January 2022 James tragically lost his life to suicide. Ed and Orlando played rugby with James at prep school, a real character and very popular member of the team. All who knew him are left devastated and wondering why someone so loved took his life. For this reason we are raising money for The James Pickering Foundation which has been set up by James' family to combat Teenage Mental Health and raise awarenes.
The second charity is The Shewsy – Shrewsbury House, Everton. This is a youth and community centre attached to St Peter's Church in Everton, Liverpool. It has been a part of Shrewsbury School life for well over a century. It offers young people in the local area an excellent range of facilities and sporting and recreational opportunities. The Shewsy aims to provide a warm and safe environment for young people to meet, socialise, and have fun.
Our third charity is Cancer Research UK, as the sooner this dreadful disease is history, the better.
All money raised will be divided equally between the three charities.
This challenge is not simply an excuse to ‘stretch ourselves’ but is a means to raise funds and awareness of issues and work which are inextricably linked to events and individuals in our lives - we would be so grateful for your support.
