Hahn Family in need of Support

Donation protected
Both the Hahn Family and the Phantoms Hockey community are currently dealing with a tragic event that befell Coach Rob Hahn, and the impact is being experienced both far and wide.

While coaching a recent hockey game, Rob started to feel unwell. Early the following morning, Rob took himself to the Emergency Room at Riddle Hospital and he was later rushed to Lankenau’s Cardiothoracic ICU on Monday, September 11th. The following Thursday he underwent extensive reconstruction surgery of his aorta.

Rob endured almost 8 hours of surgery and the initial surgery was a success. Unfortunately, a couple hours later, Rob underwent emergency surgery and experienced several complications, including a stroke, later developed pneumonia, and other complications. At the time of writing this, Rob is still battling to have his ventilator removed.

Rob's Story:

Rob is a husband, father, mentor, coach, and friend. Rob and his loving wife of 24 years Michele always take great pride in their family, business, and their friends. Rob has been coaching ice hockey for 15 years for both the Delco Phantoms and Sun Valley High School. During this time he not only coached hundreds of kids, but also served as a mentor who positively impacted many lives over the years. Michele is your typical “Hockey Mom” who frequently helps pick up the kids’ spirits after a tough loss or to share in the joy of a celebratory win.

One of Rob’s proudest moments is when he coached his kids, Shaun (14) and Avery (18), into championship seasons. Shaun is a freshman at Salesianum School, while Avery is a freshman at Alvernia University, where each continues to play hockey.

Rob is the sole employee and owner of a small HVAC company which was thriving before he fell ill. He would work all day and be in an ice rink 4 to 5 times a week.

But his life took a tragic turn when he was admitted to the ICU. Rob has suffered from genetic heart problems for many years but has always had a positive outlook and received great care when needed, as is his current circumstances.

Mounting medical bills, his children's tuition, and personal expenses are depleting their savings at an exponential rate.
