Hailey Aiono Funeral Fundraiser
Donation protected
In an effort to celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved sister Hailey Erin Aiono, we are creating this campaign. All funds will go directly to her family for funeral & memorial expenses and we thank you for your contributions.
In the Fall of 2012, during her first semester as a college freshman, Hailey was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She was immediately taken into surgery to have the tumor removed. This began a long and hard-fought battle that Hailey and our family would fight for the next five and a half years. Countless procedures, chemotherapy & radiation treatments, medications, and close calls later, Hailey is finally at peace.
Everything Hailey loved, she loved fiercely. If you insulted Batman, you got the death glare. If you told her Lion King was better than Beauty and the Beast, you got a pillow thrown at your face. If you told her you didn’t like Taylor Swift, she called you crazy and questioned your sanity.
But her love for her favorite things was only surpassed by the ferocity of her love for the people in her life. Hailey lived for her family. Even at her weakest, she only worried for their well-being. Just days after having her second brain surgery, she offered her hospital bed to her grandmother, even though Hailey herself could not sit up or walk on her own. And if Grandma had taken the offer, there is no doubt in our minds that Hailey would have crawled hands and knees out of that bed, just to make her Grandma a bit more comfortable.
When she exhausted from therapy, and her Mother’s birthday was approaching, she would fight sleep and rest to stay up and talk about the possible things we could do to show her Mother she was loved and appreciated.
And even though her young life was interrupted by illness, Hailey’s faith in God never once waivered. Never once did she hesitate to thank our Heavenly Father for her blessings, for she knew that even with her brain tumor, she had so much to be grateful for.
Countless tales could be told of Hailey’s selflessness and loyalty. It’s who she was. It’s who she is and it’s who we’ll get to see again one day in His arms.
On May 1st, at 1:56am, Hailey Erin Aiono peacefully returned home to our Heavenly Father. Any and all donations made are wholeheartedly appreciated and will go directly to her family for funeral and memorial expenses.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you all for loving and caring for our Hails. We thank you for helping us to carry on her legacy. If there was one thing we learned from Hailey, it’s that you love with everything you have, because even when the skies are darkest, even when your strength is gone and the burdens in life can feel like they’re crushing you, your family and your Heavenly Father will be there to keep you strong. And in this time, when our hearts are faint and broken, we know she is doing just that.
We love you all and thank you for everything.
Always,
The Aiono Family
