In Loving Memory of Hailey Rose Cummings

Obituary

Hailey Cummings passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 8, 2024 at the age of 22. She was born May 24, 2001 in Dearborn, MI, the daughter of Thomas and Melissa (Rose) Cummings.  

Hailey was a kind and giving person with a great outlook on life. She was happy go lucky and free spirited. She made sure to appreciate all the little things that many people may take for granted. 

Having a curious nature, Hailey was always looking for adventure. She loved to travel and learn everything she could about the local culture of the places she would visit. She was always up for trying something new and gaining new experiences.

Real estate, investing and law were some of the few interests that Hailey was planning to pursue. She was very ambitious and could do anything she put her mind to. She surely would have been the best at whatever it was she chose to do. 

Her sense of freedom of expression made her a very talented artist. Her beautiful creations came in many forms including paint, pencils and even writing. Poetry was one that she was particularly good at.

The thing that will be most remembered about Hailey is her huge heart. Her kindness went beyond what anyone could ever expect. She put the needs of others before her own and would do anything for anyone. Even if you had hurt her in the past, she was very forgiving and would still be there for you when you needed help.

Hailey was truly unique in that she was always seeing the bright side and choosing to be happy when it would be easier to feel bad or dwell on something that couldn’t be changed. Her vibrant presence is something that will always be remembered to all who were lucky enough to have experienced it.

Hailey is survived by her mother Melissa Cummings, sister Cierra Cummings, grandmother Terry Lee Jones, aunts Sarah Lollie, LaMarra Jones, Leila Jones and Noel Cummings, her lifelong best friend Charlet Howard; in addition to many loving great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her father Thomas Cummings, aunt Jennifer Reynoso, grandmother Susan Cummings and grandfathers Lamont Jones and Thomas Cummings Sr. 

A memorial service will be held 3 pm Friday, January 19, 2024 at Stark Funeral Professionals. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 12 pm until time of service.
