Hair aid Manila

You can help us break the poverty cycle one snip at a time.

'Give a man a haircut and you will help him for a day - Teach a man to cut hair and you employ him for a lifetime'

Emalee and I (Sheree) will be travelling to the slums of Quenzen City Manila , to volunteer our time and skills to help these street people learn the skill of haircutting.

I had the opportunity to be a part of the Manila Hair Aid team last year, seeing first hand the people and their living conditions shocked me. To have the opportunity to literally break a generational poverty cycle is something we can't say no to.

Every dollar raised goes directly to the people. These people I speak of are grandmothers who are raising grandchildren, mothers who have never had an oppertunity to be educated will be able to cut hair to feed her family, clothe them and most importantly get them off the streets and get them into school.

The ladies and young men are determined, persistent and have an unwavering patience and willingness to learn because a hairdressing skill is a need - not just a want for them.

I have learnt my skills as a hairdresser and as it has been said "Once you get where you are going be sure to turn back around and help the next one in line". So this June I will be passing on my skills to the community of Manila, but also to Emalee. For the first time she will be seeing this community and passing on her skills - this will be life changing for her.

A donation as small as $5 will help us change a life.

Hair aid creates dreams. Emalee and I will leave a piece of hope behind so the community can now dream.

Thank you in advance for your donations ❤
