Alopecia
Donation protected
hi i am Jenny Thomson, i lost my hair 7 years ago now due to alopecia. This is a cause that affects the hair follicles which results in your hair to fall out. This condition affects the lives of many and it needs to be made more aware off. The everyday struggles mentally and physically that this conditions causes are some that no one will fully understand unless your in the position yourself. I lost my hair when i was only 9 years old and i am now 16, i definitely feel that the older you get the harder it becomes to fully except the condition especially when your in your teenage years. There is no cure for alopecia and it is something that is gonna be with me forever. It doesn’t only affect me however, these past 7 years have been hard but i could not of done it without the support from all my family. Especially my parents, it’s not easy seeing your child go through pain, discomfort, and sit and watch as your child’s whole world turns upside down. I have recently been given the opportunity to get my hair back as i can get this mesh material shaped onto my head which means specialists hairstylists can by hand thread hair through and add hair to my head to give me a full head of hair. The work they do is incredible and it would change my entire life and bring back a piece of me which i lost 7 years ago. I am choosing to set up this Go Fund Me because this treatment costs just over £2600 and i want to try to help my parents out by raising as much money as i can to help cover some of this cost and to help me get my life back. I will be so grateful for any sort of donation as even the smallest donation means a great deal to me.
