Haley Locklear (20) has been extremely suffering with an unknown illness for a few months now. During the month of September, she became severely sick. She was taken to doctors and hospitals all around Fayetteville and surrounding areas with no answers in sight.
Monday morning, September 19 she was taken to Chapel Hill emergency department. By this time she was too weak to walk on her own and hadn’t ate In days without being sick. She lost 70 pounds in the month of September alone. The doctors at UNC immediately took her to the back and began doing tests and meds. Doctors diagnosed her with Lupus soon after she was admitted after months of suffering and losing hope. She was discharged September 31.
Almost immediately following discharge she began getting severely sick again. She would be in a lot of pain and became extremely swollen and bloated over her entire body. She was taken back to the hospital late Monday night, October 3rd. Her bp was 173/133 and her heart rate climbed to 176. She was then on the verge of a stroke or heart attack. Her breathing was so bad that they were considering intubation. She is currently in icu still extremely sick but staying strong and continuing to fight through these hard times.
As a very close friend of Haley and her family I hope that all those that love her and them as much as I, can come together to help them in these times of need. The family has been taking turns these past few months caring for their loved one and ensuring she’s comfortable. Including traveling long distance, long periods of time off of work and away from home, helping with medical expenses such as hospital bills and medications etc.
Anything helps including kind words thoughts or prayers. #herfightisourfight
