Haley Fredericks battle with Colon cancer

Donation protected
I’m reaching out to family, friends and all others who care about Haley Fredericks, who has recently been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. She is only 33 years old.
Haley had been experiencing random health problems for a little while. When she was diagnosed with anemia earlier this summer we hoped she was on the way to recovery. In August 2023, after her first trip to the ER, doctors found a tennis ball sized tumor in Haley’s colon. While waiting five days for surgery to remove the tumor and part of her colon she continued to work at her job as a hospital cleaner for a cleaning employer, all while enduring intense preparations for the surgery. Haley’s job is physically demanding but she pushed through without complaint. Surgery to remove the tumor and part of her colon was successful, and she was recovering well until September when she ended up in the ER for a second time with painful full body muscle cramps. Once again she endured all of this with a positive attitude and a bright outlook for her treatments.
Her first chemo treatment left her with brain fog, extreme cold sensitivity and intestinal distress but she endured. She has now also developed throat spasms making drinking and hydration particularly challenging. Then in October, for the third time, she was sent to the ER again and was diagnosed with Clostridiodes Difficile (C diff), a very nasty colon infection. She was hospitalized for six days. Her fight to beat the infection continued-she is our warrior! But the infection posed a setback for the chemo treatments and her plans to return to work seem less likely every day.
While we are continuing with healing thoughts for a positive prognosis, her inability to work is a constant and worrying concern. She is hoping to return to work as soon as she is healthy enough, but her chemo treatments were delayed by the infection, and will continue for six months. The path to recovery will be long. I want her to be able to focus on her health and not worry about how she will pay for her mounting hospital bills or make rent.
Haley has been through a lot in her life, and she is resilient. She was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome at three years old, which is an Autism Spectrum disorder. She spent her school years dealing with the difficulties of this syndrome, and the misunderstandings associated with Aspergers. She is truly a beautiful human being and a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, granddaughter, niece and aunt. Haley has always loved animals and has volunteers with several organizations to help care for animals. She has recently found profound enjoyment in educating children and their parents about snakes. She truly enjoys the smiles and wonder on children’s faces as she helps them hold a snake, under her very close supervision.
Haley has approached her cancer diagnosis with positivity and grace and is focused on taking this fight day by day. I initiated this fund in response to numerous inquiries from those who wish to lend a hand. Haley knows there are a lot of people who care about her and will want to help her access care in this time of need. The doctors tell us colon cancer is on the rise for young women. Please consider getting yourself checked early. Haley’s colon was almost completely blocked by her tumor and it’s scary to think of what might have happened if it had not been found when it was. Please continue to send all your love, prayers, positive vibes and messages of strength and please consider a donation at the link below. Your support will help give her the ability to focus on her health and give her the strength she needs to fight this horrible cancer.
