A Million Steps During Chemo for Kids With Cancer

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kata, and I live on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia. I am 46 years old and have two kids, they are 7 and 9. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time. I remember when I received the news both times, my first thought was, At least it’s me and not someone else in our family.

I had wonderful charities helping me with books, advice, and support when I was first diagnosed with cancer six years ago, and now, during my second battle, I came across amazing charities once again.
I’d like to give something back, and what’s closest to my heart is helping kids with cancer. While dealing with cancer myself can be challenging, I can’t begin to imagine the strength and determination parents need when their child is affected, and no child should go through this EVER.

I will be undergoing chemotherapy for the next 6 months, and during this time, I aim to complete half a million steps for kids with cancer. I plan to divide the donations between three cancer charities. I’d love to hear your input and suggestions for which charities to support.

I will be documenting my progress along the way, and if you live nearby, please join me for a walk. Every donation is greatly appreciated, and with your help, I will keep pushing myself to reach my goal.

Update: as I reached my original goal of half a million steps in January, I updated the fundraiser to One Million Steps. I am keep going!
