WHAT:
On 6th March 2021, will be running a half marathon (21 km/13.1 miles), longer than I have ever run personally, to raise money for my lovely friend Adahlia to have vital gender-affirming surgery!
The route will begin at FOREST FIELDS, NOTTINGHAM and there will be special rewards for donations!
Over £20 - Thanked in a live-steam before the run
Over £30 - Video thankyou and shout-out during the run
Over £50 - I will wear a silly hat of your choice throughout a portion of the run (to be recorded/live-streamed)
Over £100 - I will write a poem for you on a chosen subject and perform it on livestream during the run
Over £150 - For businesses: I will give your business/product a shout-out during the run (subject to checks on staff support policies)
Over £200 - ONE CLAIMANT ONLY - I will wear a t-shirt with a slogan/image of your choice through the whole run (it can be as silly as you like BUT must be PG - no rude words or pictures!
For every £200 we get OVER the funding goal, I will run an extra kilometre - e.g. £7000, I will run 26 kilometres rather than 21! This will go up 31km (19.3 miles)
WHY:
Trans healthcare in the UK is very slow and very unfriendly.
It can leave some people, like Adahlia, in a very difficult place, unable to get the heathcare they desperately need to feel comfortable in their bodies and live a fulfilling, authentic life.
Many underestimate just how serious this can be, leading to depression, anxiety, isolate and suicidal ideation.
I want to do this run to get my friend the surgery she needs but also use it as an to talk about the state of Trans Healthcare (and healthcare in general), and how it is failing patients and causing harm.
